Amongst the new joint-stock companies of the week, we notice
the Ottoman Financial Association, with a capital of one million, for the development of the capabilities of the Turkish empire, the negotiation of Government concessions for public and railway un- dertakings, and the encouragement of the growth of cotton. The Credit Foncier of Mauritius, with a capital of 500,0001., has also issued its prospectus. It is started in alliance with the Land Mortgage Bank of India, and proposes operations of a similar nature in connection with the landed property of the island.
