Views on Formosa
Sm,—The article Tire President's Policies contains a statement which is not in accordance with fact. The statement is: " There is no difference of opinion in .this country An the Formosa question." If you refer to Hansard for Thursday, February 5th, you will read that several members expressed a difference of opinion or told the House that there were many people in this country who held a different opinion.
I myself acclaim the decision of the President, and Lknow personally , many informed people who do the same.
In view of ,the report in Hansard will you withdraw the statement • to which I-have referred ?—Yours faithfully, E. LAURA BECKINGSALE.

[The comment was based mainly on the agreement between Mr. Eden and Mr. Morrison in the House of Commons. There were no doubt individuals who differed from both.—Editor, Spectator.]
