Granny Haines died yesterday in Burnley. She was only 91. Had she lived in Bournemouth, she would have been 92.

Had the Health Service paid for rejuvena- tion treatment costing just £100,000, she would have been 93.

The Daily Mirror is weeping for Granny. But Margaret Thatcher cannot hear us weeping.

She hears only the tinkle of silver coins cascading into the purses of the rich.
