Cloudy vision

Sir: 'It may have been the sight of all those Cuban women in their 'dirty underwear' or all those 'middle-class women on the game', but John Simpson must have been hallucinating (In Fidel Castro's grim back- yard', 26 March). He claims to have seen Fidel Castro climb back into his Mercedes in the old town with a huge Havana cigar clamped between his teeth. But Fidel Cas- tro stopped smoking cigars, large or small, on his 60th birthday and openly evangelises against that weed which made his country famous.
