Fairy gold

Sir: Thanks to Strix's 'Fairy Gold' (4 August) I learned that I was three years older than need be (sixty-three) and not two years too young to claim postwar credit. In gratitude I enclose a cheque for £8, in favour of the Save the Children Fund, being 10 per cent of the Fairy Gold, and hope that other readers may take Strix's advice and do the same.
