The rapid advance of the Bolshevik armies on Warsaw had

already made the situation critical enough. Mr. Lloyd George informed the House of Commons on Thursday week that the Bolsheviks had not replied to the Allied Note proposing a peace conference in London, and that their delay aroused suspicion as to their designs in Poland. He expressed the hope that it would not be necessary to re-establish the blockade of Bolshevik Russia.
