The aim of this balanced study is to follow the development of the movements, organisations and groups that actively seek revolutionary changes in British society over a period from 1956 to the present day. The author sets out to examine the beliefs, aims and composition of organisations such as the Communist Party, the Trotskyite 4th International, the Workers' Revolutionary Party, the Young Socialists, the International Marxist Group, the International Socialists and to trace their history and development in relation to present-day society.
