UNESCO is all to the good that you should draw
attention last week to the publication by Unesco of What you have reason to describe as 100 per cent. Soviet State-sponsored propaganda. A thorough in- vestigation into Unesco methods is long overdue.
In the present case it would appear that the Unesco Secretariat invited the Moscow Academy of Sciences to produce a monograph on Race Equality in the USSR. It seems inconceivable that the Sec- retariat were unaware of the sort of work this pro- cedure was bound to produce. After all, the main auditorium of Moscow University bears the slogan: 'A Leninist cannot simply be a specialist in his favourite branch of science . . he most be an active participant in the political leadership of his country.'
