The very excellent acting of Mr. Alfred Wigan makes the
revived ver- sion of Le Pere de la Debutante, entitled The First Night, one of the most interesting pieces of the day. Mr. Wigan is the best actor of Frenchmen, and Old Dufard is the best Frenchman to act. Moreover, there is about the Olympic Theatre, under the new management, an air of neatness, cleanliness, and propriety, both before and behind the lamps, which is of itself a source of gratification. The manager can afford now and then to nerve up light fare, he dresses it so well, and gives such a comfortable seat at his table.
