of The Times for fighting for their freedom. 'The character of no man is safe,' but to use the privilege of Parliament so as to slander someone out of busi- ness, and having done just that, to seek to use
parliamentary institutions so as to make it appear that a resignee was not slandered, seems an exten- sion of privileged protection of what the D Notice was all about, namely national security and absolutely nothing else. Apparently Mr Heath and Sir Alec have both seen the mysterious piece of paper which in their view has nothing to do with security. Are Mr Wilson's dogs now going to say it has and ensure the continuance of their licences? The overriding of two separate lots of Privy Coun- cillors, compels one to wonder what happens on the third occasion.
