Bounce in Revertex

'Nephew Wilds

The smooth and well-groomed stockbroker, Wotherspool, walk ing down Throgmorton Street exudes an air of respectability. How'ever 1 have frequently to witness other sides of this enigmatic character. Take for instance an incident that occurred the other night: I had just left one of my usual haunts escorting a young thing home when out of a dark, ally leaps this Hammer Horror apparition.

Your wallet or your woman" was the extraordinary request of this twentieth century highwayman. And I was just unprising the arms of the unfortunate maiden (sacrifice-to-be) when it occurred to me that the fellow might be as scared as I. So 1 stuck two fingers down my throat and whistled so hard that half the dogs in the neighbourhood started to howl. Anyway the trick had its effect and Turpin took fright. It was only when I saw the rear view of'

the fellow and recognised a familiar gait that I realised who had pulled off such a dastardly hoax.

Although I might deprecaLe certain aspects of Wotherspool's character I still have faith in his investment advice. And this week he has told me to look at Revertex. This company manufactures and sells natural and synthetic rubber latex and other chemical products. Now the trading climate looks definitely ' in Revertex's favour and, in fact, in the first quarter of the current year sales are up by a quarter and the chairman, Dr E.Brookman, expects this year's _profits to be higher than. any of recent years. This will definitely mean that Revertex is set to better E1.13 million made in 1969. It is also encouraging to note that rubber prices have been very firm which partly reflects strong consumer demand. The revaluation of the Malaysian dollar should also be to ReVertex's advantage.

To help finance this acquisition I am selling Mid-Yorkshire Tar Distillers. 1 had thought a takeover was in the offing but nothing has so far materialised and 1 do not have the patience to hold on,' watching the shares slide.
