Jews aren't a 'race'
From Mr Alexander Home Sir: I was amazed to see a man as politically correct as Simon Evans (Letters, 7 June) refer to the 'Jewish race'.
Such a comment would be expected from the follower of some far-right party, but one would expect a BBC producer to be able to distinguish a race from a religion.
While one might say that many Jews share a common genetic background, the religion, while not welcoming to converts, is hardly a closed shop.
Next time he chooses to comment, perhaps he could find a more appropriate comparator — like the 'Frogs'.
