HE Government are to be congratulated on having, after all, proposed two amendments to the Trade lions Bill without waiting to have amendments of ilar purport and importance forced upon them. IC Prime Minister admitted after the Bill had been roduced that it was capable of vast improvement, d certainly the two Government amendments do Prove it considerably. The first will make lock-outs gal on the same conditions on which strikes will be gal. It is a great pity that the accusation of bias ainst the Government was not avoided by making Bill perfectly balanced when it was drafted. The coed amendment defines more closely the conditions der which a strike or lock-out becomes illegal.
