Another development in the western theatre of the war remains
to be stated. It appears that on the line of the Aisne, which lately has been very quiet, there was at the end of the week a great revival of activity. Happily, however, this activity has hitherto been favourable to the Allies. They have not only maintained their positions against all the German attacks, but have recovered several positions, and now hold them very strongly. To the eastward also there has been progress.
