decrease of 24696. In five weeks the total has dropped by 128,762, and. it is now lower than the con'es- - ponding total of last year by 20,823. The Morning Post of Wednesday stated that the British railway schemes for reemistinction and developinent for the corking year involve the expenditure of nearly £60,000,000.
