No. 1500: Lear improved

Lear's limericks, apart from the first two lines, have always disappointed me, espe- cially the tame echo of the first line in the last. You are invited to provide new limericks (maximum three) beginning with two opening lines by Lear. Entries to `Competition No. 1500' by 27 November.
