Trials Abroad An excellent new series began on Tuesday with

7ustice in Othcr Lands. In the first place the producers have ready-made dramas in famous cases, such as the Landru trial in France or the Shark-arm mystery of Australia. These are distillations of humanity at its most regrettable and its most interesting ; and the series begins,

its own design, with a fifty-yard start. There is, moreover, the comparison of legal methods in other countries—a fascinating subject, and one calculated (I should judge) to make the British praise their mercies in the matter of the administration of law. All this, at hist showing, is uncommonly well written and directed.
