The Humanities and Science SIR, —It seems to me that the
answer to Mr. Findlay's letter is simple. Science is concerned with facts ; the humanities with values. To be an "educated man" in the fullest sense, an understanding of relative values is of the first importance ; and science, as we see only too clearly today, does not fulfil that function.—Yours faithfully, ALAN DANE.
