FASCISM AND WAR
[To the Editor of THE SPECTATOR.] SIR,—During August, more than a thousand delegates of the Women's World Conuiaittee against War and Fascism, representing all shades of political opinion, and of all nation- alities and creeds, met" for four days in Paris and discussed the growing-anxiety of *Omen throughoidthe world to prevent the futility and brutality of another war, and to oppose the spread of Fascism. The Congress surveyed the economic, social, and legal status of women, and the extent to which it has been undermined' in Faicist Countries. The delegates pledged themselves to exert all their power; industrial and personal; irrespective of party, against the triumph of violence in war and fascisrn.
- The British delegation of sixty women, representing many different organizations, are planning to hold two conferences in London* in the third week of September (20th and 22nd), and appeal to all women to support them. Among more general matters, the London conference will discuss the possibility of sending three responsible delegates to enquire into the-position of the German women prisoners and to press for their release.
