SCHWEPPES
In general the industrial companies whose profits derive from the spending money of the public are still showing very attractive figures. Schweppes, the manufacturers of table waters, are a case in point. At last week's meeting the chair- man, Sir Ivor Philipps, reviewed an increased profit and a growing business. He announced that the export trade, particularly in the U.S.A., had been very Jatisfactory. They had also been well supported in Australia and New Zealand, and the two subsidiary companies operating in South Africa showed excellent results.
