Into the details of Mr. Redmond's and- ill-conditional
outburst we shall not go lest indignation should overcome discretion; and we should say things which might impair that union between the Unionists . and -Liberals which we deem absolutely essential at the present` moment. Since, however, MT: Redmond has so unwisely chosen to talk about betrayals and breaches of faith and so forth, 'we must put on- record the absolute determination of those who, like ourselves,' have consented to the experiment being tried that in regard to the permanency of the exclusien of the six counties there shall be not merely Parliamentary pledges but the clear words of a statute of the Realm.
