I leave it to the statisticians estimate what weight of grain a hundred mice will foul or consume in day; but the sum total of consumption during 200 'days within such stack as this must make a high percentage. Early threshing gives best assurance of grain preservation, and at present there are not enou threshing machines to go round. In the stack in question were no rat Had they the prescience to desert the sinking residence?
