A new edition of Mr. Rowntree's exemplary inquiry into the conditions of the working-people in the city of York. It is substantially the same as the first, but a few additional questions have been dealt with and there is a new preface by the author. In this preface Mr. Rowntree shows himself very hopeful about the future. "We are slowly evolving qualities which will make for an industrial harmony that we have never known before."
