The Schoolmasters' Year - Book and Directory. (Swan Sonnen- schein and Co.

'7s. 6d. net.)—We cordially commend to the favour of all interested in the subject this "Reference Book of lecondary Education in England and Wales." It now appears for the eighth time, and we observe that its continuance depends upon an increased measure of support. We sincerely hope that the word " valedictory " may not signify anything more than the temporary farewell of one who hopes to meet his friends again at the regular time. The cessation of this most useful annual would be a great loss to the cause of education. There is a need of organisation in the secondary province, and a careful account of facts, present conditions of work, and prospects is most useful.
