MR. BERNARD SHAW

[To the Editor of THE SPECTATOR.]

SIR,—May I venture to suggest that to some listeners Mr. Shaw's broadcast speech the other night. was far from being boring ? So many wireless talkers give so much the impression. that they have evolved no technique, or evolved a wrong. one, that to hear Mr. Shaw's perfect and rapid delivery, made possible by his beatitiful phrasing, was an enormous pleasure, whether one cared for his opinions or not. It is by no means easy to talk on the wireless, and often it is not easy to listen, however eager one may be to hear : but Mr. Shaw's complete command of the right .style, neither too much ince- reading nor too chatty, is so rare that one wishes one could hear such speaking more often.—I- am, Sir, &c.,

BONAMY DOBREE.
