The- band of farmers from South Africa who are visiting
Great Britain this year have been received by the King, and at the Mansion House, Smithfield Market, and elsewhere. The speeches of ex-Governors-General of the Union and of our agriculturists have naturally been in the vein of the struggling sufferer entertaining the prosperous traveller. Our visitors are welcome for their own sakes ; very welcome to learn anything that they can find that we can teach them ; and they will be most welcome of all if they can teach us anything that will help to lighten the clouds that are now overhanging British agriculture.
