Failure of a Mission
SIR,—Mr. William Warbey is a LpbOur Member of Parliament. After reading his article, 'Failure of a Mission,' in which he mocks what 'was born as a dream in the mind of Harold Wilson' and blames his leader for having 'muffi'd it through personal vanity.' I wondtit why. Ho Chi Minh and Pham Van. Dong, he tells us, 'have been completely dis- illusioned by Harold Wilson's persistent support for the cruder aspects of American policy in Vietnam.' So. by the sound of it, has Mr. Warbey.
Obviously this Labour MP has a conscience. It is only a pity thai he does not also have the courage of his convictions.
