SIR.---1 read the Spectator as one of my sources of
information about England. I do not read it to be informed about Sweden. Quite a number of people wrote letters to tell Mr. Fennell that he was wrong and rude. Stir., I invite Mr. Fennell to irritate the Dutch and their friends by writing an equally aggres- sive article about Hoiland and the Dutch. Some of us would love it. Some of us would feel that some- times countries need a shake-up and that their self- satisfaction is becoming too self-evident for life. Although this applies to England as well as to Holland and although we are willing to reciprocate Mr. Fennell's services, we would rather have him come soon. Afterwards, of course, we'll tear his article to pieces and tell him how wrong and rude he has been.
