OPERA-HOUSE CONCERTS.

THE second Concert of this set took place on Friday evening; and we must do M. BOCHSA the justice to say, that he showed industry in making his selection. Particularly were we delighted with the selec- tion from R Matrimonio Segreto. It would, however, have been as well if those pieces had been placed together, and not scattered in detached and separate portions through the bill. The best thing in the concert was the Terzetto, from this Opera, " Le faccio un inchino." It was deservedly encored. We hoped to have II card part of .11 Kanto Magic°, but we anticipate this pleasure at th(3 next concert. M. CAMILLE PETIT made his debut in this country as a pianoforte player. We heard very little to admire : a great deal of mere sleight- of-hand, and nothing else. Why was the beautiful Aria " Pria the spunti" given to BORDOGNI, while DONZELLI -was in the orchestra? It was hardly the shadow of the original. The Trumpet Concertante of the Signori GAMBATI was an exhibition of a very moderate kind : it was not trumpet but keyed-bugle playing., and. that not much better than we often hear from the guards of the stage-coaches. In truth, the band was but second-rate, and no wonder ; for where are the dupli- cates to be found of such men as LINDLEY, NICHOLSON, and WILL- MAN? The room was about half-full. he lime is therefore passed when SONTAG or MALIBRAN could command a crowded audience.
