Adams. (Hogg and Son.)—With this volume Mr. Adams brings to a close the complete account of the birds of the British islands, which he com- menced about a year ago. The two former volumes were, it may be remembered, devoted to birds of song and birds of prey respectively. The concluding instalment is quite as well done as its predecessors, and the whole work forms a capital popular book of reference on the branch of natural history of which it treats.
