The Globe stated in its fourth edition late on Friday
evening that the Opposition had at length given notice of a motion of want of con- fidence. We fear that the announcement is based on a rash threat by an individual member, but there cannot be a doubt that this is the manly and, therefore, the right course. Mr. Disraeli is ruling in defiance of the representatives of the people, and ought to be led out of office by the collar. There has been a fear lest some dishonest members of the party would on such an issue desert to his side, but if the debate lasts a week the constituencies will put that right, and there are at least twenty Conservatives who can- not in honour vote for the man who has proposed to found a richer and more powerful Maynooth.
