In The Last Abbot of Glastonbury, and other Essays (G.
Bell and Sons, 6s. net), Abbot Gasquet has collected a number of essays, of which that which gives a title to the book is the most important, occupying about a third of the whole. Among the others are " Abbot Feckenham and Bath " and " St. Gregory the Great and England." Feckenham went to Bath for his health in the summer of 1575, and remained there for some nine months He was one of the most benevolent of men, and it is a good service that Abbot Gasquet has done in telling us about some of his good deeds.
