M. Volkhardt, a printer in Augsburg, has been sentenced to
sixteen years' imprisonment, for a libel on the Bavarian Government. He is thirty years of age, and has a wife and two children. He was conveyed to the prison at Munich ; where his head was shaved, and he was com- pelled to put on the prison dress: he was so overcome, that he fainted away.
