Mea culpa
Sir: Roy Fuller said, 'I try my best in poetry to match/Everyday's marvellous and varied prose.' Though I checked the proof myself (Life and Letters, 2 November) I permitted him to say that he tried to match, Every- body's marvellous and varied prose.' This is so far from what he intended, or could pos- sibly have thought, that I feel I must apolo- gise to his Shade.
