SALVATION ARMY MARRIAGES.
[To THE EDITOR OF THE "SPECTATOR."] SIR,—In the note appended to the letter which you kindly inserted in the Spectator of October 9th, you ask Is it not the fact that a Presbyterian minister is bound by custom, if not law, to announce his engagement to his Presbytery, and seek what is virtually a sanction, which in extreme cases could be and would be refused ?" I am sorry to trouble you again with this subject ; but as you have asked the question, I answer without reservation that such is not the custom, and never has been.—I am, Sir, &c, A MINISTER OF THE CHURCH OF SCOTLAND.
