THE five programmes with which the B.B.C. is telling the story of the war seem to me to have been excellently designed ; and—to judge from the first two—are being carried out with technical point and precision. How big an audience will listen to three " living docu- ments of the war " ? Enormous, I should .judge. The events are near enough to be real, and remote enough to be not too uncomfort- able.
