Sir: Isn't it true that the British are just hope-
lessly bad at sex? Half the population thinks it is naughty but nice (an adolescent view), and the other half thinks it is a loathsome disease, caught at puberty (the puritan view).
Europeans observe the British attitudes to sex with a mixture of amusement and bewilderment. The public-school system is a classic example of weird (even perverse) sexual conditioning.
Mr Murdoch simply rubs his hands in glee. The British way of sex is his licence to print money. Really, haven't the British brought all this on themselves?
