SIR,—" Minister's Wife " should indeed count her blessings. Provided
that one can survive the first year it is far better to be paid in arrears than in advance. The money comes in just as regularly but it is always owed to one instead of having to be earned. At the time of retirement there is a year's salary in hand instead of nothing.—I am, Sir, yours truly,
