The packet-ship Sheridan, which left New York on the 27th
January, arrived at Liverpool early this morning. A strange scene had occurred in the House of Representatives. Two Members gave each other the lie direct, engaged in a boxing-fight, and were with difficulty separated.
Very severe weather bad prevailed on the American coast, which was beset with ice. The mail-steamer Britannia, some days overdue, is conjectured to have been obstructed by the ice in the Atlantic.
