On the Continent the value of money has slightly given

way. During the week the price has fallen at Paris and Frankfort, at which cities a reduction of one-half per cent. has taken place, the official minimum at both places being 41 per cent. Here, how- ever, the quotations remain firm, both at the Bank of England and in the open market. The stock of bullion in the Bank of England is 13,296,1141. ; and at Paris, 16,820,1001.
