SIR,—Re Mr. Massingham's letter, July 10th, p. 44, " moulted egret plumes." I recently returned home and brought a number of " moulted" egret plumes from Bornu. Taking some to a feather shop—plan:wafer I think he called himself—the manager said," Oh, these are no use; they are moulted plumes."
