THE BURIALS' QUESTION.

Stu,—Mr. Carvell Williams suggests that Nonconformists should contribute to the maintenance of all churchyards, on condition (1) that the right of burial be not confined to the clergy of the Church of England ; and (2), that they do not receive the whole of the burial fees now paid to them.
I heartily endorse his first condition, and I believe with him that the Nonconformists would do so too. To his second I say, " No. Let all burial fees be abolished, for the clergy and for everyone else." Many of the clergy have given them up, hating (as I do) the notion of requiring a piece of money for every little office they perform. I don't give my name, but I state bond fide
