The Nodding Mandarin : a Tragedy in China, edited by

Lewis F. Day (Simpkin and Marshall), is a tale in verse, somewhat after the manner of Hans Christian Anderson, of two china figures, a chimney-sweep and a shepherdess, that sought to escape from a third, "a nodding mandarin." We did not find either pictures or verse particularly amusing.
