Mr. Morris has prefaced them by a short life of Chaucer, an outline of the grammatical forms and of the metre and versification employed by the poet, and has appended full notes and a glossary. With such assistance the ordinary reader will have no difficulty in appreciat- ing Chaucer, and will be grateful to Mr. Morris for having guided him in such a pleasant path.
