The Real Algeria. By H. D. Stott. (Hurst and Blackett.
10s. 6d. net.)—The author's main object in this book has been "to show the inhabitant of Algeria, whether native or European, as a human being." He also aims at giving a fair view of the French administration of the country, which he describes as "one of the greatest efforts of constructive colonization ever undertaken by man." His style is fatiguingly skittish, but his book contains much of interest.
