P.O.W.s

SIR,-1 hope the article on German prisoners of war and the editorial comment in The Spectator for July 11th will be widely read, and will arouse the general public to express more actively the indignation which is felt about the continued retention of these Men. I feel that their presence here, two years after the war has ended, is a di:sgrace to a democratic country, and cannot be justified by any argument based on expediency. Whatever difficulties stand in the way, they should be over- come with all possible speed for the sake of our own peace of mind and of the men and their families separated for so many years.—Yours faithfully, GRACE TILLEY.
