COMPANY MEETING

OLYMPIA LIMITED

THE WOMEN'S FAIR

Tan ninth ordinary general meeting of Olympia, Limited, was held on March 56th at Olympia, London, W.

Mr. Louis Nicholas, who presided in the absence abroad of Mr. Philip E. Hill, the Chairman of the company, explained, the fail in revenue, pointing out that it arose from circumstances over which the directors had no control. At the last general meeting he had referred to the alterations and improvements which were then in hand and which had now been cothpleted and paid for at a cost of upwards of £240,000, with the result that the company now owned Exhibition buildings that in the opinion of the board were unequalled by any in the country.

The board had after careful consideration formed a company, known as Exhibition Promoters (Olympia), Limited, which was solely owned by Olympia, which company was now promoting and organising a Women's Fair and Exhibition to be held in November in the current year. With this Exhibition fixed, Olympia was fully let during the current year except during July and August. Notwithstanding the fact that the company had available undistri- buted profits of £47,997 and £5o,000 standing to the credit of dividend equalisation account, a total of 497,997, the directors were of opinion that until the lettings of Olympia had been restored to their former level this decision was a prudent one in the interests of the company'. His personal opinion was that Olympia had _now every chalice in the near future of recovering its previous prosperity. The report was unanimously adopted and the proceedings terminated with a vote of thanks and confidence to the Chairman and directors: - ;
