Improving Trade The improvement of trade is undoubted. Last month
the exports of British goods were £4,976,000 more than in April, 1928. It is true that there were two more working days this year, but a comparison of the first four months of this year with the two preceding years confirms the impression of improvement. The respective figures are 1223,088,000, 1237,205,000, £241,412,000. The unem- ployment figures last week fell by more than 31,000.
