ZOOLOGICAL Sociew.—The Society has just receivpd a most important addition in the purchase of a male elephant, recently arrived from Madras. . . . The elephant reached the gardens on Friday last week, having walked from the East India Docks in little more than two hours. He evinced a great liking, on board of ship, to articles of femtile apparel : at Blackwall, he took from her head, and devoured, a lady's bonnet; and took from another her reticule, containing half-a-do4en nonpareils, which he swallowed, bag and all!
