CUCUMBERS Ridge cucumbers are worth growing when one has no

glass-house, and one of the best varieties is King of the Ridge. Regular water- ing, the application of lawn-clippings and, when the fruits fill out, the frequent use of the knife, all help to maintain a supply. Seedlings raised now should be planted out early in June.
